Efficient document organization is crucial for any business, but without a structured system, files can quickly become disorganized and difficult to retrieve. That’s where DMS+ Connectors feature comes in—giving administrators precise control over document tagging and classification. By enabling or disabling specific connection settings, you can customize workflows to fit their needs. Whether you need to enforce strict document categorization or allow flexible uploads, Connectors help streamline document handling, ensuring that every file is properly stored and easy to find.
To configure Connectors, navigate to Settings > Configuration> Connectors within DMS+.
Here, administrators can fine-tune three key settings that influence document organization:
Each setting provides distinct functionalities that determine how documents are classified, tagged, and stored.
Enable DocType Connection The DocType Connection setting controls whether a DocType is linked during folder creation. By default, it is off.
When enabled, Step 2 in the "Create DocType" appears, allowing administrators to assign a DocType to the folder, ensuring all uploaded documents follow a consistent classification.
When disabled, Step 2 is hidden, letting users create folders without assigning a DocType. Enable this setting if you want to enforce document categorization and maintain structured organization.
While creating folders, you can also link them to DocTypes for better organization and classification when this toggle is on
Enable Master Connection The Master Connection setting controls whether a Master is linked during folder creation. By default, it is off.
When enabled, Step 2 in the "Create Master" appears, allowing administrators to associate a Master with the folder, ensuring all uploaded documents are properly tagged.
When disabled, Step 2 is hidden, allowing folders to be created without requiring a Master. Enable this setting if you want to enforce structured document tagging and maintain consistency.
While creating folders, you can also link them to Masters for better organization and compliance when this toggle is on.
Allow Uncategorized Files The Allow Uncategorized Files setting controls whether users can upload untagged files to linked folders.
This functionality is only applicable for folders which are linked to a DocType or a Master.
By default, it is off. When enabled, untagged files are temporarily stored in an "Uncategorized" subfolder, visible only to the uploader, until classified. When disabled, users must tag files upon upload, preventing untagged storage. Enable this setting for flexible uploads, allowing later classification, or disable it to enforce immediate tagging and maintain structured storage.
By strategically adjusting these settings, you can create a document management workflow that aligns with your organization's needs:
The dMACQ Connectors feature empowers administrators to create a structured and efficient document management system. By enabling the right settings, organizations can ensure compliance, improve accessibility, and streamline workflows.
